The essence of UX education

At Ergomania we strive to provide basic or advanced UX education according to the needs and interest level of our clients, or even provide best practices on how to best collaborate with UX professionals.

UX education requires a great deal of technical knowledge, in addition to a tangential knowledge of computer logic, coding and other software-related skills. UX also involves knowledge of people, the users, so psychological skills are also important, as understanding the interaction between the person and the application requires knowledge of both sides.

As the science of UX is quite complex, a good education is essential to become a UX designer. This is where Ergomania comes in.


UX education process at Ergomania

At Ergomania, UX education is an interactive format, mostly conducted in smaller groups. Participants are introduced to the basics of UX, while advanced learners get to know specific UX disciplines better, or even how to work with UXers.

We can introduce colleagues from other professional backgrounds to each element of our methodology. We teach many activities and methodologies that are new even to the UX profession. These include Lego Serious Play, Mental models, the Kano model, etc.

During our UX education, we often hold workshops that focus on empirical learning of UX through hands-on design and research exercises. We have over 17 years’ worth of experience, having held our first one in 2004 when there were barely 5 UX professionals in the country.

Our experience has been put to good use at OTP, the largest Hungarian bank, where we have been training since 2016. We were one of the first to offer online training, which proved to be a very useful knowledge during the shutdowns.

During online training we use miro, hangouts, zoom, etc – always picking the ideal platform for the situation.


Main methods of using UX education

At Ergomania, UX education is based on market-leading expertise and years of real-world experience. Over the years, we have tested all existing and possible methodologies, techniques and tools, so only solutions that have been proven in real-life situations are part of UX education at Ergomania.

When it comes to UX education, it is important to know that there are no formal, governmental or international requirements for a particular degree, qualification or license, so Ergomania teaches the best and most up-to-date methods and solutions available, not what someone thought was good years or decades ago.

UX design is also a rapidly evolving and changing profession, as the physical and service environment itself is constantly changing.


What do our clients gain by using UX education?

UX education participants can learn the essence of “user experience” and how to create a UX-optimised service or product.

Those who attend the basic training will learn the key aspects and tools of UX, the UX vision and how to work with UX professionals. Getting a basic training not only helps you learn about technology and software-related topics, but also gives you a comprehensive background in interaction, communication and more.

Participants in the advanced course and workshops can also learn UX design, and the higher level training will introduce them to the latest proven tools and methods, as well as give them insights into the future of UX.
